What’s the sense of cycling?

The argument:

  • Cyclists are healthier than most.
  • Healthy people live longer.
  • Living longer means consuming more energy.

The wording:

Traveling by bicycle may cause more environmental harm than driving around in pollution-spewing, fossil-fuel-swallowing cars and sport utility vehicles. (via)

Call me Strunkish, but I’ll take the argument over the wordy wharton wabble.
